Suggestions and arguments don’t change minds, but experiences do. Listen to hear how a husband finally persuaded his wife to buy herself a new, improved bike.
Welcome to another replay episode of Anecdotally Speaking! We’ve spent the past week planning for a big 2023, so this week, we’re replaying our last episode of 2021!

A past colleague of Mike Adams’ told him that he was trying to convince his wife to upgrade her bicycle. He had a nice bike, but when he suggested it to her, she would say, “I love my bike. It’s fine. There’s nothing wrong with it. I’m happy with it, and I’m used to it.”
One day, on a bike ride, her bike frame broke. As a result, she couldn’t ride it home.
So he suggested she ride his bike home and offered to get her bike back there too.
When he got home, she was grinning from ear to ear.
“Oh, I love your bike!” she said, “It was so easy to ride, so comfortable. I love the gears…”
So he said, “Well, maybe we should get you a new bike.”
And she said, “Oh, yes, I’d love a new bike!”
